What We've Been Waiting For!

Hey everybody!

We have exciting news...we are MATCHED! After being an active family for 27 days, a birth mom has picked US! We have been so excited it has been hard to keep it a secret for three long days!

On Wednesday I was getting my haircut and I got a call from FAC. I knew that they would only call me for a match, and not for a rejection. When I saw her number come across my screen I instantly started tearing up. I answered the phone and she said, “Jocelyn you're going to be a Mama to a baby GIRL”. Umm...say WHAT! Tears started running down my face, my heart was racing, and I was certainly in the “pinch me” phase. She asked me if I wanted to tell Ricky or if I wanted her to call him. I was SO excited I could be the one to tell him. My hairdresser kept asking questions but I couldn't focus on that..I just wanted to get out of there and go tell my husband. As soon as my haircut was done I went to party city, got a bunch of PINK balloons and surprised him at his work. He was so excited and surprised it was the best feeling in the world to have that moment together. We were now expecting a baby GIRL! We agreed to not tell anybody until he got home from work. Those three hours felt like the longest of my life, as soon as he got home we called all of our families and they were so excited!
Our baby girl is due on February 17th!!!!! Literally 49 days from now! We are SO blessed and thankful for this gift. We got a chance to talk to the birth mama on the phone, it was so great to hear her voice and get to know her. She is truly giving us the best possible gift. I have seriously had the most crazy work schedule this week for this type of news and honestly haven't had time to go buy everything pink and floral I can get my hands on...but let me tell you, Monday I'm coming for ya.
This process has been the hardest thing that Ricky and I have gone through together. But it is so evident that God has ordered our steps through the whole thing, blessing us the entire way. The support we have had from our family and friends is overwhelming, constantly praying for this little girl to come home. We have prayed about having a child for three years, and our dream of becoming parents is closer than ever. I seriously can't wait to watch Ricky be a dad, and to have a little girl to call our own. Ever since we got the news, we have been texting each other several times a day reminding each other that we have a baby girl on the way! We just can't stop smiling!
God is SO GOOD! We know He will continue to guide us and provide for us in the upcoming months as we prepare to bring our baby girl home. We had been shown 26 cases, 8 of which we said yes to having our profile shown to the birth mother. We had a budget that was somewhat on the lower end of the spectrum, so we said no to many cases just because we couldn't afford them. When we saw this case, it was more than our budget but for some reason it still seemed right to us, so after praying we decided to say yes to it. We knew that because the price was more than we had, if the birth mom picked us, we would have to trust that God would provide the extra money we needed.
After speaking with the birth mom, it seems like the exact situation we were hoping for. Many of the fears that we had, like the birth mom changing her mind at the last minute, were put to rest after talking with her. We believe that God has specifically chosen to match us with this mother and her baby.
So please pray for the birth mom and the baby over the next couple months, that God would comfort her and give her peace with the decision she is making. Please pray for us, as we prepare to be parents! And please pray that God would provide the funds we need, we need to come up with a little over $5000 before the baby is born. Our resources are stretched thin at this point, but we have a Great Provider who is faithful to provide for His children! We ask for your prayers more than anything else, but if you do feel led to give financial support, you can do so at Bring Baby Venable Home.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers during this journey of our lives, we are so thankful to have you play a part in this part of our story and can't wait to introduce our little girl to you all!

Love,

Jocelyn
