Homestudy #3 finished

When Ricky and I first started considering adoption nine months ago the big stress seemed that it would be the homestudy and the paperwork. We had heard horror stories of how terrible homestudys could be and that left us terrified! We have been praying for this day for nine months and.....

We just finished our third and FINAL pre-placement home visit!!!

Our social worker is great! (Crazy, right??? we have a social worker!) The home evaluation was flawless no need to fix anything! And our paperwork seems to be falling into place. These visits were much less stress than I originally had thought they would be! Of course it's crazy this one woman has control over whether we can be parents or not! But they are OVER!!! I just had to ask her at the wrap up if we had "passed" she chuckled and said YES! This is one HUGE step toward baby Venable! Like the biggest pre-placement milestone!!! Now the waiting game! Waiting until we get approved for loans/grants and waiting to save more money! Then waiting on a birth mom to choose US to be parents for her little boy or girl! God is just SO GOOD! We will be a mommy and daddy someday, hopefully soon! God has made it very clear and opened so many doors that we never expected! We are SO grateful and blessed!

Next step: once our social worker finishes the document we will be applying for grants and loans! Once we have enough money saved and pre-approved money we will be putting out our profile book for moms to see !!! Lord willing- praying for January to be putting our book out! Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
