Happy belated Thanksgiving! We just returned from our busy three day trip to Maine. It takes about 13 hours driving each way! It was such a great trip! We were able to see both of our families and spent a great deal of time with them! Not to mention the great food! Our favorite way to spend time with our family is over super competitive card games, and we are hoping to pass on this tradition to our children too! We celebrated Christmas and Thanksgiving while we were up in Maine, so this Christmas it will just be us and Huie! We had an ugly Christmas sweater competition, the picture in the profile. I seemed to have showed up with a handsome Christmas tree :) Safe to say he won!!
      When we first started wanting a family three years ago I kept saying "hopefully this will be the last Christmas with just us two" It has been many holiday seasons since I first said those words, each one gets a LOT bit harder. I am very good at getting my hopes up...I like to think its because I am a hopeful and joyous person but it would have been easier to not have this mindset. 
     Yesterday we received an email from our adoption agency that the large package we sent them last week was received and that we didn't forget one single piece of paperwork! Truly that was a miracle! There were more 25 required documents and most of them were 5+ pages each! So in a few business days we will be assigned a personal consultant and become and ACTIVE family! This is HUGE! The average wait time for an active family is four months, but we both decided we were open to many situations so hopefully ours will be shorter! 

P.S- I think we officially have a boy AND a girl name picked out!! FINALLY
