Update

Hey Friends,

          We haven't posted an update since early September! Shame on us! We have been super busy filling out required adoption applications, filling out loan applications, searching for paperwork and working on our profile book.

          From the very beginning stages of our adoption journey I was very excited to work on our profile book. The book is what the birth mom is given to decide on which family she wants to raise her child! It is super important and our agency is very specific at what requirements they have, and it took far longer than we expected it too but we are super happy about the results. They are experts (obviously) and know what birth moms look for in a family. So after 4 drafts, tonight we got our book APPROVED!!! We just finished ordering the first one, we will make sure we like the way it looks and then will order 4 more. Once we have received all of them we have what is sure to be a ten pound package to send to our agency and they can put our profile book out!!!

          The average wait period for a family is four months once the profile book is out! This is HUGE! If we are in the average we may have placement by March or sooner! The Lord continues to provide and guide us in this challenging and emotional process. We are so thankful for our family, friends, and church community for all the support and prayers! We have been so blessed. We absolutely can not wait until we are matched and become a family of three (plus puppy)! We are so thankful for every step, big and small in this crazy exciting time in our lives!

          We have officially chosen a boy name and are still working on a girl name! Names are so much fun to talk about. Thinking about what our child will look like while trying to pick a name is so emotional! We did not pick any specifics about the child we desire, which makes it that much more exciting!
